Primary Care Service

Whakarongorau doctors and nurse practitioners providing additional practice resource

Whakarongorau Aotearoa, a social enterprise, is the leading triage, prevention, and wellbeing provider for Aotearoa. We partner across health and social services to give everyone the opportunity for wellness.

Whakarongorau aims to be there when face-to-face health and social services cannot. We provide consistent, clinically supported access to services for those in need or when people are unable to access face-to-face services due to location, time of day, financial, or cultural barriers.

In hours and out of hours doctor and nurse practitioners support for practices

The Whakarongorau Primary Care Service provides doctors and nurse practitioners to support your clinical team remotely, in hours and out of hours.

The Whakarongorau Primary Care Service is able to support medical practices with a range of remote services to enhance the delivery of care for enrolled and casual patients.

We provide:

  • Continuity of care – we’ll be integrated, long-term with your teams and are whānau whānui centred.
  • Integration with other Whakarongorau services – e.g. to Quitline for smoking cessation and mental health services such as 1737.
  • Health/wellness education and connection - to support patients and their whānau.
  • Strong clinical governance.
  • Skilled and experienced clinicians.
  • We are free for your patients. The cost is to the practice. We’re helping support a more equitable service for your most vulnerable patients.
